Eponine Thénardier is the eldest daughter of her family, born to a thieving innkeeper and his wife. While her parents are cruel, selfish, and will do anything - including stealing from a destitute child - to make a buck, the idealistic Eponine and her little brother, the fiery Gavroche, are a different breed entirely. Born into comfort, the tides of time have robbed them of security, prosperity and even their parent's affection.

Eponine has responded to this loss in the only way available to her - by becoming an ally of the Friends of the ABC, a group of revolutionaries attempting rebellion against the monarchy in protest of their harsh treatment of the poor...and by fixating her emotional attention on rich Marius, for whom she harbors a secret - and perhaps deadly - crush.

As she enters Milliways, Eponine carries with her the burden of her knowledge of Marius and Cosette's love for one another, a love that has doomed her own desperate affections to an unrequited desire. Even still, she knows that her love is one-sided, unfulfilling. We'll see how Milliways changes her, for better - or for worse.
